Boulders (2024 – 2026)
In old age, the body becomes heavy. Thoughts can be heavy not only in old age. Heavy thoughts make the body heavy. It is easier to roll a heavy object than to carry it. When you can no longer lift it, maybe you can roll it? When you can no longer go forward, maybe you can roll?
A duet, born from the somatic exploration of the physical action of rolling and pondering over the topic of not being able to (do something, change something, etc.) anymore, and the link between these 2 things.
Choreography and dance: Aistė Kriukelytė, Dominyka Markevičiūtė

SOJULA (2021 – 2026)
Somatic Movement Laboratory (SOJULA) is a gathering of people who love conscious movement and improvisation; and a place for movement exploration, creation and communion in movement. We aim to be in touch with our bodies and their sensations, as well as with the environment and other people. These connections invite us to move and we accept this invitation.
We get together once a year and at the end we invite people to watch a performance of structured improvisation born during SOJULA. We have also participated in “Suburtynė” (marathon of Lithuanian national songs “sutartinės”) in the courtyard of the M. K. Čiurlionis Museum in Kaunas several times.

Artistic research Human. Impulse. Movement. and authentic movement performance Getting Closer. (2019 – 2020)
A dance for one spectator, created here and now, specifically for him, using the skills acquired during the practice of authentic movement: non-judgement, acceptance, listening to body sensations and movement impulses, and following them. We explored what the spectator sees in such a dance, how they react, what they feel, what thoughts arise.
Based on this research, the authentic movement performance “Getting closer” was created and a chapter for the book The Fluid Nature of Being written.

In the Mist (2018)
When something that worked before is not working any more. Something that was fun is not fun any more. Something that seemed to be meaningful is not such any more. Then you go and look for something else. You don‘t know what it is and where to find it. But you hope it exists. Somewhere.

It was water here (2010)
I have read in a newspaper about a huge island from scrap plastic, occupying many thousands square meters and drifting in one of the oceans. Birds, fish and other ocean inhabitants eat the plastic or get trapped in it and die. I began to think where these huge quantities of plastic come from. And I saw a man, drinking water from a plastic bottle. He finished it and threw the bottle into the trash bin…
Aha, there it is. They appear so innocently – we, for example, want to drink. To drink clean and healthy water. What’s bad about it? – you’ll ask. No, nothing. Absolutely nothing bad. It just appeared to me that if we continue like this, we will have less and less of ground, grass, white snow, flowers… Because there will be more and more bottles from that clean water and we will need more and more dumping grounds. They will take up all space and no more place will be left for us.
